What Not to Do When About to Go on Holiday

So you are thinking about going on vacation! Here are a few things to keep in mind if you go abroad to make the whole event run a bit smoother.

To begin with have a list of all of the things you want to take with you on vacation including passport, credits and any documentation you might need.

Before you set off for the airport, make sure you have your passport. Put it inside something you have to carry with you to the airport so that you wont just carry it about in your hand, place it down for a second and forget it as you head out the door (believe me it happens).

If buying travelers checks make sure you shop around to see who is giving you the top exchange rate and when you start to exchange them back look out for banks, charging you, to exchange them back again.

If you have a credit card it is worth taking that with you to make sure you have a fall back if anything goes amiss (just make sure you keep it separate from the rest of your credits)

Look at weather forecasts to see what its going to be like and make sure you take some decent tanning lotion with you. Stay in the shade most of the time and give yourself some sunlight for brief intervals to begin with until you start to acclimatise to the sunlight.

Keep away from alcohol when your due to go on a plane as, one, you may well get turned away from your journey, two as the airplane rises through the air you are going to feel very light headed! And three, when you first get into a hot country you are sure to get dehydrated very quickly. Alcohol wont help this.

Mostly make sure you have fun, but don't be silly. You take yourself with you wherever you go, and there is no point ruining your life because you where being reckless on vacation.
